Mail Check — a personal utility by Aevrin

Mail Check is a personal, self-hosted application that displays your unread email count. It does not collect, store, share, or sell any personal data.

What the app does

Mail Check connects to the Gmail API using OAuth 2.0 with the gmail.readonly scope. It reads only your inbox label metadata to retrieve your unread message count. It does not read, store, or process the contents of any emails.

Data storage

An OAuth refresh token is stored locally on the self-hosted server to maintain your authenticated session. No data is transmitted to any third party, analytics service, or external server.

Data sharing

None. No personal information, email content, or usage data is shared with anyone.

Third-party services

The app communicates solely with Google's OAuth and Gmail APIs to authenticate and retrieve inbox metadata. No other third-party services are used.

Your rights

You can revoke access at any time by visiting your Google Account permissions page or by disconnecting from within the app.
